About Us

Dixie County Historical Society

The Dixie County Historical Society was created in February 1992. It is located in the Dixie County Cultural Center (formally the Old Town School).

The Dixie County Historical Society is a local organization dedicated to studying and preserving the history of Old Town. The Historical Society fosters an appreciation of the past, with an emphasis on local history. In addition to collecting and preserving historical artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, the Historical Society conducts research into local Dixie County families and businesses, which they present to the public through exhibits. The Historical Society also provides public historical records.

Due to the Covid virus, the Cultural Center visiting hours are by appointment only. Use the contact page for more information.
